President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday raised fresh concerns about his mental fitness for office when he referred to the Delta All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Great Ogboru, as “presidential candidate.”
Mr Buhari committed the blunder when he was asked to present APC governorship flag to Ogboru at the party rally held at the Warri Township stadium, raising suspicion that the APC presidential candidate may now be suffering from dementia.
The president’s blunder came hours after a deplorable performance at a Town Hall meeting hosted by NTA’s Kadaria Ahmed on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the day, he had also reportedly collapsed during a rally in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Buhari said: “I am handing over this flag of honour to our presidential candidate.”
A man to his left corrected him, saying “gubernatorial”, Buhari responded with “to our senatorial candidate”.
Again, the man corrected the president, who then refered to Great Ogboru in his next breath as “our “governortorial candidate.”
Some APC governors, party National chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, ministers, National Assembly members and other party leaders had attended the rally.
