The embattled Senator representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, on Friday slumped at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters in Abuja and was moved to police clinic Abuja to save his life.
Mr. Melaye had finally surrendered to the Police following the siege on his Abuja residence.
The senator had gone to see the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris at Force Headquarters, Abuja after his fellow senators, who visited him on Friday, interceded in the matter.
But it later turned out that the senators were not able to see the police chief, who was said to be out of office.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY understood that Mr. Melaye later went to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad office, Guzape, Abuja, where he was supposed to be interrogated.
But hours later, in a video by Channels Television, Melaye is seen being helped into the vehicle by some people around him, with some saying, “Give him water.”
In the clip, Melaye was heard gasping for breath.
