The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has urged the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately rescue Leah Sharibu from Boko Haram captivity before it is too late.
Atiku said this on his Twitter handle while reacting to the killing of another Red Cross worker, Hauwa Leman by Boko Haram terrorists.
He said, “I’m deeply saddened by the murder of Hauwa Leman, an ICRC aid worker, by terrorists.
“I implore the Federal Government to deploy every reasonable tool at its disposal to bring Leah Shuaibu and all the children in Boko Haram captivity home.”
Leah Sharibu has been held by the Boko Haram terror group since February.
Sharibu, 15, is being held by a faction of Boko Haram after she reportedly refused to renounce her Christian faith.
Most of the students forcefully taken along with her from their boarding school in Dapchi village, Yobe State, February 19, were released after four weeks because they are muslims.
