Oshiomhole, APC Govs Visit Omisore, Seek His Support In Osun Gov Rerun

National Chairman of All progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, some APC governors, and other party leaders Tuesday night visited Senator Iyiola Omisore at his Ile-Ife residence to beg him to support the APC Osun governorship candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, in Thursday’s rerun supplementary election holding in seven polling units in Osun State.

This was disclosed to journalist on Wednesday by the Director of Publicity, Research, and Strategy of the APC in Osun State, Mr Kunle Oyatomi.

Oyatomi said, “I can confirm to you that our leaders went to Senator Omisore’s residence yesterday and had a good talk with him. We are optimistic that we will win the election and both sides will benefit from that discussion.”

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunke Amosun, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi were some of those who visited Omisore.

Others are: Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed.

Other chieftains of the ruling party were also present.

Mr. Omisore came third in the governorship poll held on Saturday on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, got the highest number of votes, with Oyetola coming second with 353 votes shy.

PDP chieftains, including Senate President Bukola Saraki had also visited Omisore, seeking his support for the PDP candidate, Adeleke.

Mr. Omisore, who has now become a beautiful bride in the Osun governorship race, is yet to publicly say who he will ask his supporters to vote for on Thursday.
