Robbers Kill 10 In Attacks On Edo Banks

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Johnson Kokumo has confirmed that dare-devil robbers have killed not less than 10 persons in Igarra, in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

It is understood that the victims were killed by the robbers who invaded the town on Thursday, in an attempt to rob the Unity Bank and Keystone Bank branches in the area.

They had earlier stormed a police station close to the banks so as to demobilise the policemen.

A policeman and two detainees were reportedly shot dead at the police station, while three other people outside the station were killed by the armed robbers.

Four other persons were also killed at the commercial banks by the robbers.

It was also confirmed that the official vehicle of a newly posted area commander was set ablaze by the robbers.
