The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has submitted report on Tuesday’s siege at the National Assembly to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
The report, indicted the sacked Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura has been obtained by CHECKPOINTCHARLEY.
According to IPP Iidris, Daura acted alone and never consulted other security agencies.
Mr. Idris also questioned the validity of a security report that allegedly anticipated a violence at the parliament,as Mr. Daura had claimed during interrogation by the police.
The IGP said in the report that the police have been interrogating Mr Daura in Garki, Abuja, since he was arrested. But he recommended the release of the other DSS operatives, who took part in the siege, to the police for questioning.
Mr. Daura was disgraced out of office on Tuesday after he unlawfully sent DSS operatives to lockdown the National Assembly.
The presidency has since replaced him with Matthew Seiyefa, the most senior director in the spy agency.
