The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expelled Senator Buruji Kashamu and three other members from the party.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, disclosed this on Monday in Abuja after the 80th meeting of the party’s NEC.
The NEC meeting, which was presided over by PDP Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus was attended by governors and other members of the party across the six geopolitical zones.
Mr. Ologbondiyan said Kashamu, representing Ogun East in the Nigerian Senate, and the three others were expelled from the party for flirting with the opposition.
Those expelled alongside Buruji, are Semiu Sodipo, Bayo Adebayo and Segun Seriki.
They were accused of working with the opposition in Ekiti State to deny the PDP victory in the just heldd governorship election, which the APC won.
“The party took disciplinary action against its members who have been hobnobbing with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in ways that were detrimental to the interest of the PDP,” Ologbondiyan said.
