Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, who was allegedly hospitalized after he was reportedly brutalized by operatives of the Nigeria Police, took time to address a crowd of supporters on Wednesday over his ordeal right at the seat of power – Government House, Ado Ekiti.
He told his supporters how he was beaten and hit with gun butt by police operatives who sealed the Government Wednesday morning, and how one of them threatened to shoot him.
Mr. Fayose said he would be returning to hospital to continue with his treatment, but he charged the people of the state to resist what he called the army of occupation that has come to take their land.
He said that Ekiti is under siege because of Saturady’s governorship election, asking the international community to come to their rescue.
“Nigeria is in trouble; Ekiti is in trouble,” Fayose added.
