Barely hours after the National Assembly told President Muhammadu Buhari to do something about insecurity in the country or be impeached, suspected Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday night invaded Benue communities and slaughtered at least nine persons.
The victims were killed in separate attacks in Guma and Logo LGAs of Benue State.
Over 45 houses were reportedly set ablaze, while several persons have been declared missing after the deadly attack.
Six persons were killed in Tse Shan, and two in Tse Nyamkyume in Saghev, Guma LGA.
The attackers also killed one person in Tse Ngo Jov Tombo Logo LGA in a separate attack that happened late last night, Daily Post reported.
A source in the community told the newspaper that most victims were children and women, who could not run when the heavily armed herdsmen invaded the community.
