President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Sunday led a delegation of senators on a visit to Benue state in a show of sympathy and solidarity over the incessant killings in the state.
Mr. Saraki and Co was received Sunday afternoon by the Governor of Benue state, Chief Samuel Ortom, Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Comrade Abba Yaro and other state officials.
Other members of the delegation who went to commiserate with the Benue people iccluded, Senators Raji Rasaki (Ekiti), Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba), George Akume (Benue North West) and Barnabas Gemade (Benue North East).
Benue state has being under severe attacks from suspected Fulani herdsmen, leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless.
The state conducted a mass burial for 76 victims of the January 1st 2018 massacre in March this year, amidst tears and condemnations.
Last week, the state again organised a mass burial for two Catholic priests and 17 other parishioners, who were murdered by herdmsmen in April this year. President Muhammadu Buhari skipped both events.
