Serbia have defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-0 in a friendly played on Tuesday at The Hive stadium, London.
Two second half goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic secured victory for the Serbs.
The first half ended goalless but Serbia should have gone ahead before the break 1-0 as Mitrovic’s finish, which clearly crossed the line, was not awarded by the linesman.
However, Mitrovic made sure that the Super Eagles were brought down when in the second half, sweeping home a cross in the 68th minute to put his country ahead.
The striker, who is currently on loan at Fulham from Newcastle, made it worse for Nigeria as he produced a similar finish with 10 minutes left, to make it 2-0.
It was Super Eagles second loss under German coach, Gernat Rohr. Team captain, John Obi Mikel, had missed the match due to work permit issues he had in China.
