Nigerian international, Ahmed Musa on Tuesday returned to Russian club CSKA Moscow, on loan from Leicester City after failing to live up to expectation. The move will keep him at the Russian club until the end of 2017/18 season.
The 25-year-old striker, who joined Leicester for a club-record fee of £16 million in July 2016, made 21 appearances for the club and scored only two goals.
In the current season, he failed to make a single appearance in the Premier League for the Foxes.
Speaking on return to the Russian football and the club, where he started his first stint from 2012 to 2016, the Super Eagles player said:
“I am very happy and proud to be back. This is truly my home, champion team that fights for the top awards and occupies highest places. I am back to the red-blue family!,” CSKA quoted Musa on their verified Twitter handle.
In his first spell at CSKA, he made 125 appearances, scoring 42 goals to help the club win three Russian top flight league titles (2013, 2014, 2016), one Russian Cup (2013) and two Russian Super Cup titles (2013, 2014).
