Borussia Dortmund have signed Swiss Nigerian defender Manuel Obafemi Akanji, German media reported on Saturday.
The 22-year-old FC Basel centre-back will cost Dortmund around 21.5 million euros, according to The Bild and football magazine Kicker.
Akanji, capped four times for Switzerland, was also chased by Man United.
According to reports, Dortmund had first offered 15 million euros for Akanji, who cost Basel 700,000 euros from Winterthur just two years ago, but upped their bid due to problems in their defence this season.
Dortmund are yet to officially announce Akanji’s deal ahead of their first Bundesliga match of 2018 at home to Wolfsburg on Sunday.
