The corpse of kidnapper and militant, Prince Igwedibia, notoriously known as Don Wanny, has been brought to the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt on Sunday morning by soldiers and operatives of the Department of State Services.
Don Wanny, the alleged mastermind of New Year day Omoku massacre, was shot and killed alongside his second-in-command and another member of his gang.
Security sources said that he was trailed and killed in a community in Enugu.
It is gathered that after the Omoku massacre, Wanny went underground by relocating to a quiet neignourhood around Enugu Town, Enugu State.
He is said to have rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours.
Nevertheless, the DSS managed to track him. After which a combined team of troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu and personnel of DSS Rivers State Command raided the hideout to arrest him and his cohorts.
But Wanny, his Second- in- Command (Ikechukwu Adiele) and another gang member (Lucky Ode) on sensing the raid, attempted to escape but were shot by the troops.
It is understood that one of them died instantly, while the other wounded two eventually died before they could get medical help.
The remains of Don Wanny and partners in crime have been handed over to the Rivers State Police Command.
