President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday summoned his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, following their clash at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja over a leaked memo that has embarrassed the Buhari administration.
The two clashed and engaged in a war of words before the Federal Executive Council meeting – with both accusing each other of being behind the leakage.
In the leaked memo Oyo-Ita wrote to Kyari, she said she warned the President against asking fugitive pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina to return to the civil service, saying doing so could affect the anti-corruption war of the Federal Government.
The clashed happened before the nose of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun and service chiefs and ministers.
A Presidency source said that President Buhari was embarrassed when he was briefed about the confrontation between Kyari and Oyo-Ita.
He said even the presence of the Vice President did not mean anything to the two.
There was no sign of any disciplinary action against both officials as at the time of filing this report.
