CHECKPOINTCHARLEY has been informed that gunshots and teargas have been fired to save Charles Oputa alias Charlyboy from being harmed at Wuse Market, Abuja on Tuesday following an attack on the,“Our Mumu Don Do” protesters by trouble makers, suspected to be supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Eye witness said Charlyboy and his group met as usual at Unity Fountain before they decided to take their protest to the popular Wuse Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
On getting at the popular market, they were attacked with stones by people suspected to be supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari.
But officers of the Nigeria Police Force, stationed at the market, quickly responded and restored peace and order.
Speaking during the clash, one of the leaders of the anti-Buhari protest, Deji Adeyanju said: “If the president had any integrity he will honorably resign.”
“This government is worse than Abacha regime, Abacha during his tenure did not kill over 1,000 Shiites.
“Abacha did not waste money by sharing to hired crowd.”
Charley Boy and his fellow campaigners have been leading a campaign for the return or resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Buhari has been absent from duty since May, 7, 2017 when he returned to the United Kingdom on medical vacation.
