Rivers State Will Recover $43m Osborne Loot – Gov Wike

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has insisted that the $43million loot discovered in one of the luxurious apartments in Osborne Towers, Ikoyi Lagos belongs to Rivers State. Mr. Wike said the loot was proceeds from the sale of the assets of the state and vowed that his administration will recover the fund despite the antics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government.

He made this known while speaking during a special appearance on Channels Television Sunrise Programme on Saturday. The governor disclosed that already a team of lawyers was already working to ensure Rivers gets back its money.

Wike said: “We will follow due process of the law to get back Rivers State money found at the Ikoyi residence.

“This money belongs to the Rivers State people. We have conducted our checks.

“We will stun Nigeria with this matter. We will come out with our evidence at the appropriate time”.

He claimed that the federal government has something to hide going by how much the discovery was politicized. But stated that Rivers will not reveal its strategy on how to recover the loot because of the games being played by the APC federal government.
