Chelsea winger Victor Moses celebrates with Michy Batshuayi after the Belgian scored the title winning goal

Belgian international Michy Batshuayi, who came in as substitute, scored in the 82nd minute at The Hawthorns as Chelsea beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 to win the Premier League title for the fifth time, with two matches left to be played.

The victory put the Blues at 87 points and with their closest chasers, Spurs at 77, there is no way they could catch Chelsea even if they went ahead and won the remaining three matches in the event of their London rivals losing their last two ties.

Interestingly, Batshuayi hadn’t scored in the Premier League since August. And when it mattered most, he did – scoring his second league goal and possibly the most important goal of his career.

It makes it three seasons in a row that a Belgian had scored the title-winning goal.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte is now the fourth manager to lift the Premier League trophy in his first season in England – like Jose Mourinho in 2004-05, Carlo Ancelotti in 2009-10 and Manuel Pellegrini in 2013-14.

Also the former Juventus coach has claimed a fourth successive league title as a manager – adding to the three Serie A trophies he won with the “Old Ladies”.
