The Uyo Federal High Court has ordered the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial district, Bassey Akpan, to immediately vacate his seat in the Nigerian Senate and refund all the money he has received as emoluments so far from the national assembly.
The court in a judgment on Monday held that Bassey Etim ( also known as BAFIL), and not Mr. Akpan, was the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 senatorial election in the state.
