No fewer than 35 people have been killed in a terror attack on a Nightclub in Istanbul on New Year Eve, Istanbul Governor, Yasip Sahin has said.
At least another 40 others were injured in the attack which took place in the Reina nightclub, in the Ortakoy area, at about 01:30 local time (23:30 GMT).

But Dogan news agency later reported that two gunmen entered the venue dressed as Santa and spraying bullets at random inside the Reina nightclub, one of the city’s most exclusive party spots.
There were hundreds of people in the nightclub at the time of the attack. Most of them reportedly jumped into the Bosphorus to escape. Rescue operation is ongoing to rescue those who jumped into the water in panic.
