Herdsmen Kill 13 Farmers In Taraba, Chase Away Many

At least 13 people have died as unhindered herdsmen vented their anger in Taraba State in what seem to be a reprisal attack by the so called Fulani Herdsmen. And according to reports farmers in three local government areas have been forced to leave their villages and are now lying low in Dan/Anacha market in Gasol LGA of the State.

Trouble was triggered off when two herdsmen were allegedly killed last Tuesday by armed robbers along Kzaior/Gzo Road. When the news of the killing made landfall in town, armed herdsmen headed to the the area, attacked and drove away the farmers. This left in its trail at least 13 persons killed, five injured and property worth millions of Naira damaged.

One Mrs Mngueshima Nzibiam, abducted by the herdsmen said that they were armed with lethal weapons and used her to extract information about the villages

The Chief of Tiv people of Bali local government, David Gbaa confirmed the attack and disclosed that the attackers were still in those villages killing people with not challenge from the military or police.
